If you are new to Finland food, I will suggest you find your way round their cuisine with the borsch soup which is called Borschkeitto. The recipe is made up of beetroots and carrots but with ample supply of celery. It is slightly spicy with black pepper. The food requires a previously unknown ingredient called the frankfurters.
You are also welcome to the bourbot soup. Here, you will need peppercorns and regular tomatoes. This food is not as tasty as the borsch but quite similar to the Southern tomato stew.
Finland soups look more like pudding with lumps of veggies. They are not as spicy as in the West but nevertheless do not taste bland too.
